Walker's Overlook Wedding // Maryland Wedding Photographer

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

This wedding was held at the wonderful Walker's Overlook Venue in Walkersville, MD. I really love photographing at this venue because you can get a lot of variety in their space. From the wonderful entrance lined with trees that leads to the front. To the back with wide-open space to get creative in. The fields to the right and the fences to the left. You really can't go wrong when you get married here. I asked my couple a series of questions about how they felt through different stages of the day that will be added to this blog.

On your wedding day what was your first thought when you woke up in the morning?

Mark: I don't remember my exact first thought but I remembered a mix of nervousness and anticipation.

Chey: I need to shower and shave my legs! I don't think I slept much with all the anticipation and to-do lists running through my head. I just wanted to get to the venue already!

What was running through your mind while walking down the aisle?

Mark: I was trying to process the feeling of all this still being surreal. I hadn't really pictured what it would actually be like to get married so I was still wrapping my head around "oh, so this is my wedding" combined with how happy I was to see all my family and friends who had traveled to support Chey and I.

Chey: I was so focused on Mark - being so aware of how big this day was. I couldn't take my eyes off him but could feel the warmth of love from all our friends and family that traveled so far to celebrate with us. Mark was even more handsome in his tux than I anticipated! I whispered to my dad partway down that I felt so excited to be marrying him. Then, at the end of the aisle, I finally caught a glimpse of my bridesmaids lined up with the golden sunlight and it took my breath away. They were so beautiful and I was so thankful to have them stand beside me.

What was your most memorable moment?

Mark: Cheyenne coming down the aisle for sure. A very close second would be just dancing and laughing with all of our friends and family.

Chey: Walking down the aisle seeing Mark's face and hearing our songs play in the background. During the reception, all the tear filled tender conversations with our loved ones. Also having a sort of "second first dance" later in the evening. The band played our request for "Drunk in the Morning" by Lukas Graham. We love listening to that song while we cook at home and ended up being the only ones dancing and had so so much fun.

Describe your day in three words.

Mark: Fantastic, unfortunately fleeting

Chey: Epic, emotional, breathtaking

What do you hope your guests remember most about your wedding day?

Mark: Hopefully, how much fun they had.Chey: The quality time with each other and with us. I already have been loving the stories they share. So many laughs and good moments!
