Little Island at Pier 55 // Elopement

This has been one of my favorite new locations to photograph when in NYC thus far and I am so grateful to be introduced to it by this wonderful couple. Little Island at Pier 55 is an artificial island park in the Hudson River west of Manhattan in New York City, adjoining Hudson River Park. This wonderful park was designed by Heatherwick Studio a design and architecture studio based in London, England. You can check out their design process and an overlook of the entire park here.

Getting back to this beautiful couple. Early on during their engagement they decided that when the day came they wanted to do something smaller and more intimate just for them. And I am so happy they made this decision, this location was everything! Amazing shapes and architecture that I can play with in their photos with posing. The most beautiful golden light falls on this location when the sun starts to set over the Hudson River. AND it's within walking distance of The High Line park, which we also wanted to incorporate during their elopement.

I had a blast walking through the city with these guys, stopping every few moments to capture their love in new places. We went up and down many steps, ran across streets, and danced our way from one place to the next. And the best part is, is that this was everything that E & T wanted from their wedding day. Something personal and special to the two of them.
